KWTP Focus on Civil Asset Forfeiture

End Civil Asset Forfeiture

Join Us for an in-depth look at Civil Asset Forfeiture!

Civil Asset Forfeiture without charges or indictment is a grievous crime in a free Republic. From guilty until never proven innocent to a complete disregard for property rights (the foundation of any free society), all the way to a direct attack on the currency of our country. Seems the “full faith and credit” of the government doesn’t protect your right to currency if you have more than $10,000 in cash. Don’t make deposits of under $10,000 to your small business account either.

This is wrong on so many accounts. There should be multi-millions of people with proverbial pitchforks marching on DC until this despicable practice is halted.

Some further reading: then please contact your Federal and State legislators and tell them, “This Must STOP!” especially in Texas where we like to believe we’re still free.

A dysfunctional civil-forfeiture system seizes savings, destroys lives

Mandrel Stuart used to be a small-business owner. Unfortunately, he had to close down his Staunton, Virginia restaurant, the Smoking Rooster. Not because of poor sales or harsh food critics, but because one day in 2012, Fairfax police officers turned a routine traffic stop into a chance to seize $17,550 of Mr. Stuart’s hard-earned money. How? Civil asset-forfeiture…

Rep. Ted Poe Visits KWTP at Tin Roof this Thursday, 5/7/15, 7 pm

Congressman Ted Poe Visits Kingwood TEA Party Thursday Night

poe

WHEN: Thursday, 5/7/15

TIME: 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

WHERE: The Tin Roof – Atascocita MAP

RSVP: Please click here to RSVP

Judge Poe has been waging a determined fight for our Right of Privacy on the internet and on cell phones.

Subject for discussion on May 7: What is our reasonable expectation of privacy in the modern world and the Congressman’s
Online Communications and Geolocation Protection Act of 2015
that addresses the issue.

A unanimous Supreme Court recently declared that that our networked mobile devices merit the highest level of Fourth Amendment protection against government searches, since these devices often contain more sensitive information than even “the most exhaustive search of a house” would reveal.

Yet increasingly, the vast troves of personal data they contain are synched to “the cloud,” where the outdated Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 allows many types of information to be accessed without a warrant.

The need to bring the law up to date has been recognized not only by privacy advocates, but major technology companies, more than half of the House of Representatives, and even federal law enforcement officials. Watch the Cato Institute’s lively presentationof how and why to drag federal privacy law into the 21st century, with keynote speaker Rep. Ted Poe (R-TX).

Many Congressman reply that they can’t. CIS is funded by fees. But doesn’t Congress make the laws? READ MORE on Republicans Can Defund Obama’s Executive Order, They Just Don’t Want To.

A good question to ask Rep. Poe is why Congress keeps
funding the President’s Amnesty and other illegal edicts?

The Kingwood TEA Party Battle Flag

flag

On November 3, 2010, the day after the massive TEA Party elections that swept so many Obama supporting Democrat Congressmen and Senators out of Washington, Ted Poe walked to the U. S Capital. It was a beautiful day with deep blue skies and the American flags snapping in the wind next to Lady Liberty atop the Capital Dome.

The beauty of the day and its historical significance inspired The Judge to ask for one of the flags that was flying over the Capital that glorious day so he could present it to the Kingwood TEA Party in appreciation for the KWTP standing up to the Obama administration, getting conservatives elected, and expanding the TEA Party movement.

The Judge said it was a victory flag, but more importantly, a battle flag, because the fight for freedom was going to get much more difficult.

Our Community & KWTP Sweeps Local School Board Elections

Congratulations to Heath Rushing and Angela Conrad, our two new Trustees as well as to the great incumbents we also supported: Charles Cunningham, Robert Sitton, Keith Lapeze, and Brent Engelage. We are looking forward to working with you to make Humble ISD schools even better!

Thank you to all who supported our efforts in electing 100% of of the Kingwood TEA Party Board’s recommendations. This includes our members who helped us block-walk and donated to our mail outs and emails as well as to all those who accepted our recommendations and helped us elect this fine group to continue improving our schools for our children! It was expensive, but worth it. Donations in preparation for our participation in the Houston mayor’s and city council races, as well as 2014 elections are gratefully welcomed.

And a HUGE thank you to all who worked so hard to get the truth about the Lone Star Bond issue out and especially to all who voted with us to make its rejection a reality.

Kingwood TEA Party congratulates and thanks every one of you who voted with us in this important election and to all of our great candidates, new and incumbent, who have stepped up to help make our local schools and community colleges even better!
